Stop printing document properties summary page in Word 2007

I don't know how it happend, but a colleagues version of Word 2007 recently started printing a document properties summary page at the end of each print job. It took me about 20 minutes searching the Internet for a solution to this problem (even Office's help doesn't seem to have any information on this *feature*), so I've decided to put my solution here.

  1. Click the 'Office Button' (top-left corner of the window) then 'Print'
  2. Click 'Options' (bottom-left corner of the print window)
  3. Choose the 'Display' section
  4. Untick 'Print document properties'
  5. Click OK to all the windows and you're done

I was thrilled to find this page, but when I tried to follow the directions I could not. I don't have an office button - I am using Small business 2000 on XP - When I click on print I do have an options tab at the top but it does not contain a box (ticked or unticked) that says print document properties. I went to my program and right clicked but can't seem to find any such box. I must have changed something recently in working with my relatively new printer..... as I have had this computer for a few months and the erroneous page just started printing in the last few days. Yes, I am wasting paper...!!! Any help would be appreciated.

Carlene: I know this is a little late, but unfortunately this post is only for Office 2007. I don't have access to an installation of 2000 to see how it is setup there although, it is likely in the print options section somewhere (from Tools -> Options).

It does not work on mine!! It says print "documents", I checked the print properties and unchecked it too. I can't get it to stop printing. Any other suggestions?

How DOOO they make things happen without a command from the operator??? My time is valuable, and it really ticks me off when things just HAPPEN for no reason at all. Thank you, so much, and I really appreciate the tip. It saved me yet ANOTHER HOUR searching through the layers of dialong boxes just to turn a stupid switch that was wasting my paper!
HATS OFF TO YOU!

Thank you so very much! Word Help was of no help to find this setting. The setting was turned on somehow without my knowledge. It may have happened when I switched the Region Language from English to French and back again (through Control Panel). But then again modifying the language may have been a coincidence with the printing of document summary and I have no reason why it would suddenly turn itself on.
